Friends, Be praying that we would lay a "solid foundation" for the first building to go up at Camp Canaan as we labor this Saturday and Sunday. If you and/or your family are in the area… stop by and say HI and bring us a lemonade as we level the ground, mix concrete and lay the block. WARNING: For those who come in working clothes you will be put to WORK!

Blessings,
Charles Wimmer

Subject: The Call to Fasting and Prayer at Camp Canaan
To:

The Lord has called out and confirmed to me and others that Tuesday evening, the 22nd of July, in the year of our Lord two thousand and eight, to fast for the day and to come and pray for what your Lord and your God will do in your heart and on this Holy Ground of Camp Canaan for His Glory, Honor and Praise. For those who do not know how to get there, please meet at the Cracker Barrel parking lot at Carowinds off of I-77 at 6:45pm to car pool to the Island of Canaan. Together… with one heart…one mind…one purpose… to meet with God. We will begin our time together at 7:07pm. You do not need to RSVP to this message. I will be praying for each of you each day of this weekend as He stirs your hearts to come and meet in community with other men and pray in God's will for Camp Canaan. Please forward this to all warriors who are ready to do battle on their knees for God's moving. If you cannot attend, please block from 7-9pm to stop and pray for this time. The door is OPEN…may we walk through it! Blessings,

I Cor. 16:13-14

Fwd: Greetings (from Mission Uprising)

Subject: Greetings
To:

Men,

Greetings to you all! I hope this finds you well and fighting the good fight.

Isn't it easy to get sucked into the Matrix??? It is for me. I got back from vacation last Wednesday and I don't feel like I have stopped since. The matrix is such a "slippery slope" that if we don't constantly stay alert to it, we can slide into it quickly and without notice. Praise the Lord that HE is always there with a hand to pull us up. We just have to reach out.

In speaking with our brother, Kevin Casner, this afternoon, he graciously offered the Barn………so, how about a few Trail Marker events??

First, you may be asking….what is a Trail Marker event? A Trail Marker is a time for us to gather together along this shared journey we are on and re-set our bearings, establish our "true North" again, and share fellowship. A chance to come together along the way and be among brothers. Too often, the amount of time between "series or retreats" is too great and we lose our way. The Trail Markers are intended to keep us going down the path in the right direction.

Mark your calendars for Tuesday dates of 7/29, 8/26, and 9/23, 7:00pm – 9:00pm, for a get together at the Barn for a time of prayer, a great message, and great fellowship. We will have some good things to share as it relates to "walking this path" that we are on. Bring a friend with you as well. We would love to have them.

Also, an update on a Fall 2008 Retreat. We are still in need of a facility here in SC or NC to arrange something so if you know of a spot, please drop me a line and let's get hooked up. Thanks.

Hope to see you in a couple of weeks.

Strength and Honor,
Scott

Fwd: Tuesday at the Barn 7/1/08

---------- Forwarded message ----------
From: Scott
Date: Mon, Jun 30, 2008 at 11:19 AM
Subject: Tuesday at the Barn
To:

Men,

Blessings to you all!! I hope this finds you well. Just a quick reminder to everyone that tomorrow is the last session of this series at the Barn. 7:00pm – 9:00pm. To allow for time , we will be starting the session at, or as close as we can, to 7:30pm, so breakout time will be shortened this session.

We will be covering two main topics:

"The Beauty"

and

"Where do we go from here? / Bands of Brothers".

The Beauty.

"Where is the beauty I once saw? What happened to the woman I fell in love with? I didn't really expect an answer to my question; it was more of a shout of rage than a desperate plea. But Jesus answered me anyway. "She's still in there, but she's captive. Are you willing to go in after her?""

John Eldredge - Wild at Heart

We will dive into what makes her so mystical and why she is so opposed by the enemy who is set out to keep us from her rescue! A great message and great videos. You don't want to miss it.

Where do we go from here?

We will wrap up with dialogue about where we go from here and have dialogue about what a Band of Brothers looks like. We have been asked many questions around this topic and we hope to shed some light on those as well! We will also open it up at the end for general Q and A.

Good stuff. Worth the journey. Worth the time. We have to choose. Hope to see you there!

Strength and Honor,

Scott

eyeball surgery

Brother,

We desire to pray for even the "no-big-deal" things for you and every brother.
Sorry, it just what we do and how we want to live.
Amen

www.theshackbook.com

The Shack is a Christian novel by William P. Young, published in 2007. Written in 2005, "my only goal was to get copied and bound at Kinko's in time for Christmas as a gift to my kids." Until The Shack sales soared, he was a manufacturer's representative for a technology company by day and did website design work on the side. But he had always been a writer, he says, who gave poems and stories as gifts. He wrote the book to explain his own harrowing journey through pain and misery to "light, love and transformation" in God to his six children, ages 14 to 27. Eleven years ago, Young says, he was hanging on by a thread, haunted by his history as a victim of sexual abuse, by his own adulterous affair, by a life of shame and pain, all stuffed deep in his psyche. "The shack" was what he called the ugly place inside where everything awful was hidden away. The book is about confronting evil and stripping the darkness away to reveal a loving God within, he says.

I just bought it and could not put it down until the last page. Great fiction, good for the heart!

Question for God from a Wild man about Proverbs 31:3

I am asking a question for God from a Wild man about Proverbs 31:3.

Proverbs 31:3
Do not give your strength to women,
Nor your ways to that which destroys kings.

How this verse relate to taking our "question" to the woman out of our Wound or Rescuing the Beauty?

Please comment.

Barn Brothers

A group of 20+ men are pressing on through a 6-week Tuesday night series...in a barn! Somewhere in Lancaster County, SC and led by Scott, Sean & Dan (missionaries to the Carolinas sent from Indiana in the guise of businessmen), we're working through some "Wild at Heart" material and wrestling with who God has called us to be as men. Good Stuff. Check out www.missionuprising.com to get the flavor.

The Wild Goose Chase..runs through Greensboro!

It's awesome to see God stirring the hearts of men. Last Friday, May 23rd of '08, 17 men from across the region gathered in Greensboro for five hours to share their hearts and to pray. Men with a couple things in common. 1-At some point in each journey, God crashed the party and let "Mr. Nice Church Guy" know that a battle was on and we were in it. A battle that requires strength and courage. A battle that requires dependence on the grace of God and a heart to follow the Wild Goose. (J. Eldredge explains, "The early Celtic Christians called the Holy Spirit "the wild goose." And the reason why is they knew that you cannot tame him. But if you follow his haunting call, he'll take you on an adventure.") 2-To a man, we agreed we are "compelled." To see men connect with God and connect with each other.

Inspired by the thoughts of John Eldredge (Ransomed Heart Ministries, author of Wild at Heart, Sacred Romance and other titles), C.S. Lewis, Neil Anderson (Freedom in Christ Ministries), Bands of Brothers are forming. Friday's meeting brought together men from areas including D.C., Charlottesville, Richmond, Roanoke, Raleigh, Durham, Greensboro, Charlotte, Shelby...and Bakersville (not for from Spruce Pine in the NC mtns).

There's a battle going on and we believe we are called to fight together. Stay tuned.
